Menarche.

Yesterday I was super excited to recieve a message from a dear sister, sharing that her daughter had got her first bleed - and- on the same day that we were gathering in our sister circle.

I was so touched by the thought and preparation that my friend had put into this special day. We celebrated her daughters portal into womanhood with champagne chocolate, sharing, roses and love.

I love hearing stories of menarche and how the shifting tides of menstrual cycle awareness is making this sacred day, one to celebrate and honour. Re-writing the script of menstruation and encouraging young people to step into thier wild power.

What was your experience of menarche, the first day that your period arrived? Was it a positive celebratory experience or was there embarrassment or shame? Did you know what to expect or was it a complete surprise? How did your parents respond?

If you are pre-menstrual, then doing cardio exercise is SUPER good for you as it helps get rid of excess oestrogen in your system which can help regulate your mood. It'll give you a boost of feel good endorphins to help you navigate the trickier seas of your menstrual cycle - AND - it will help prevent any gnarly emotional energy getting stuck in your gorgeous body.... Yum - a big old release for your system. Your body, hormones and nervous system will thank you for it.

Did you know that your menstrual cycle will be impacting the way you exercise and eat? Even the Chelsea Womens Football Team have clocked on to this and now tailor thier training around the players menstrual cycle.
I had a lot of fun sharing the framework of the inner seasons and menstrual cycle awareness with some lovely people last night. I absolutely love witnessing the moment when the framework opens people, bringing them into more loving connection with themselves, their body and their menstrual cycle.

I live in a gorgeous home in the middle of the countryside, there are 6 of us, all women, with a beautiful labrador called lunar. 🐕🌙💛 I returned home from work yesterday to find this gift in my bedroom. Strawberry moon water, ideal for goddess bathing. Such a thoughtful, creative treat to recieve from @hollelujahhh

New Blog: Is Psychosexual Somatics for Me?

In PST, we believe that all sexual challenges have an underlying emotional root cause. It is only by addressing both the mind, emotions and the body, and by re-regulating the nervous system, that issues can be fully resolved. Therefore, PST is not so much about learning fancy quick tricks to become orgasmic or to last for hours in your love-making.

What PST is about is supporting you to explore your sexuality; to understand how your past could be impacting your present, how your ability to hold boundaries could be impacting your body, how your nervous system could be impacting your sense of safety.

PST is about gently increasing your capacity to be in your body and feel, whilst learning to lovingly be with all aspects of yourself. The process involves getting in touch with your emotional landscape in a slow and safe way so that you can gently begin to open and experience your vibrancy, power and the life-force that fuels your sexuality.

Every Autumn (the time when I'm premenstrual), I crave the holding of the masculine. My little girl wants her Dad, to recieve love, safety and affection.

It is poignant to me, that my Dad passed away when I was in my inner autumn and at a time when physical connection was not possible due to the Corona Virus. It's even more poignant that I find myself sat, by chance (if there is such a thing), in the direction of the west, of autumn. A dear sister holding a shamanic ceremony calling to the directions and the elements to hold us in love as I say farewell to my Dad.
We, my being, the bluebells and the wind sounding through the trees connected us to the energy of my sister and mother, bringing us in unison with the funeral taking place in Scotland, whilst holding love for my Dads partner Alli.

The candle lit flame became our fire, ablaise in love and forgiveness, honouring his humaness, his strength and his struggle. Offering trauma to the flames and the challenges we had to be in connection with one another. Drawing a card from my deck that spoke words so perfect and true... "I let go of the shadows of the past, by seeing someone for the first time with the eyes of love"

The rhythm and tone of shamanic drumming reverberated through every cell of my body. My womb aflame with power, my heart pouring with grief and with grattitude to have such precious friendships.

Goodbye from adult me, goodbye from fearful little me and a tearful farewell from the challenged teenager me.
Holding flowers to my heart, an inner knowing that it's up to me now, to be my own father, my own container, my own river bank that can enable the flow of love to run through me. Holding and witnessing all that I am, my fire, my heart, my passion, my tenderness. The importance of this inner boundary, of holding, seems to have multiplied. There can be no more outwards seeking but to land these foundations within myself.
Blowing the candle out in unison, the birds join us in song and our heads tip back in a harmonious howl. My system drunk in friendship, in ceremony, in chocolate... in the feminine of nature and the masculine softly claiming roots into my heart.
